ECOLOGY required explicitation which both unpacks the suffix "ology" to denote a field of study, and which conveys the inherent relations of organisms to one another and to their physical surroundings (lit: study/ science of habitats).
Participants yielded a translation by using more signifiers to cover syntactic or lexical gaps (the complex meaning of the Source Language word is amplified or distributed over several words in the Target Language).
هو مصطلح يدل على مجال علم من الأحياء الذي يقوم بدراسة الروابط البيئية وعلاقات الكائنات الحية مع بعضها البعض ومع محيطها الطبيعي. اقترح المشاركون بالورشة السادسة (بيروت) استخدام هذه الترجمة، والتي قد لا تكون متداولة ضمن الحوار المترجم للإعلام الرسمي مع التأكيد بسلامة استخدام تعريب للمصطلح أيضًا "ايكولوجيا" .
