MAPPING required explicitation which would distinguish between the cartographic act of map-making, and the quantitative or qualitative survey implicit within the MAPPING process. The various clauses yielded all utilize the Arabic term for 'survey' or 'documentation,' as well as a descriptor that denotes the MAPPING as a form of spatial 'representation.'
Participants yielded a translation by uses more signifiers to cover syntactic or lexical gaps ( the complex meaning of the Source Language word is distributed over several words in the Target Language).
هو مفهوم ينتسب إلى عمليات (أو نتيجة) تخريط تتمركز حول تحويل بيانات تم جمعها عن طريق عمليات المسح بصيغة معيّنة إلى بيانات بصيغة أخرى. اقترح المشاركون بالورش الثانية (عمّان) والرابعة (بيروت) والسابعة (تونس) والثامنة (طنجة) استخدام هذه الترجمات، والتي هي غير متداولة ضمن الحوار المترجم للإعلام الرسمي بهذا الصياغ، لأنها تشكل تكافؤ في المعنى للمفهوم والذي لديه وجهين متميزين (عمليات المسح، أي جمع واستخلاص المعلومات أو البيانات، ونتائج التخريط والتمثيل للمعلومات أو البيانات).
